The employment law challenges of the credit crunch

Date: Wed, Nov 19th, 2008 6:00:01 pm | Location: Dechert, 160, Queen Victoria St., London EC4V 4QQ | Speaker: Charles Wynn-Evans and Jason Butwick, Partners, Dechert

The events of recent weeks need no further comment, thanks to journalism in excess. However what journalism does not reveal is the detail of the fallout and the unsung heroes of industry who manage somehow to remain positive when the going is tough.

What should our unsung heroes be doing on the HR and recruitment front? How should they react to recent events? How has the legal landscape shifted? These are the questions to which people want answers, and this session is devoted to providing some of these answers.

Charles Wynn-Evans and Jason Butwick are both partners at Dechert LLP specialising in all aspects of employment law and practice. In this practically focused session, they will provide a rough guide to navigating these unchartered waters. The main areas which they will cover are : - staffing strategies to cope with a downturn - handling redundancy processes effectively - implementing difficult dismissals - avoiding own goals

The presentation will run from 6.30 - 7.30pm and will be followed by networking and refreshments. The evening will finish at 9.00 pm.
