Talent Management and Retention in a fiercely competitive environment
Date: Tue, Feb 24th, 2009 8:34:10 am | Location: Vantis PLC 66, Wigmore St. London W1U 2SB | Speaker: Grant Weinberg, Gilead Sciences
Gilead Sciences is a rapidly growing Pharmaceutical company which employs top graduates from around the world. In the UK, growth rates have meant that it has not been possible to recruit and train its staff from graduate level. It has therefore had to recruit talent from outside the organisation.
Gilead is a living example of the problems which several sections of industry currently face. Despite soaring unemployment, significant numbers of possible candidates with the appropriate qualifications and experience remain stubbornly elusive. A successful talent management and retention policy is therefore key to a successful overall strategy.
As the Director responsible for the UK, Grant Weinberg is responsible for involvement in implementing and adapting this strategy to suit the prevailing labour market. This is a difficult tightrope on which to balance and he will be sharing some thoughts on how best to do this with the Society.
The event will commence with drinks at 6.00 pm, followed by the presentation and Q&A which will start at 6.30 and finish at 7.45. Refreshments will follow.
We are grateful to Vantis PLC for their support in hosting this event, and to Grant Weinberg for preparing for and delivering the presentation.
