Midlands launch event: Beyond social resourcing - what next?

Date: Wed, Mar 24th, 2010 6:30:17 pm | Location: Telford Room, IET Birmingham, Austin Court, 80 Cambridge Street, Birmingham B1 2NP | Speaker: Panel debate

Speaker Panel to include: Jon Porter, MD UK and Ireland, TMP Worldwide; Geoff Newman, CEO Recruitment Genius Ltd; Richard Ward, LinkedIn; Jerry Collier, RPO Expert (Kenexa & AMS); speaker from Enhance Media, Tom Marsden, Director of Professional Services, AMS, Jon Hull, Resourcing Manager, RS Components

What next in Resourcing indeed! The return of disintermediation? The death knell for employment agencies? Social Resourcing rules OK? An "everyone connected to everyone else" world of work where 100% of hires are by referral? Automated and reduced CPH services but less room for quality human interface?

Downturns can have a habit of "changing the rules" forever, and we need to ask ourselves whether we are indeed witnessing a seismic shift in the whole manner of Recruitment in the UK, spurred not only by economic realities, but also by technological innovation. Our distinguished panel of speakers will give their insights into where they think Recruitment is headed from their perspectives, and attempt to tackle questions like the ones posed above, as we all try to ensure we stay on top of what sometimes seems a baffling world of change.

This promises to be a lively and engaging session with some animated debate between the panellists and from the floor! We will also use the evening to discuss our plans for the Midlands regional development, and generate interest and support for the future.

The presentation will run from 6.30 - 7.45, and will be preceded by drinks from 6.00 pm.  It will be followed by networking and refreshments. The evening will finish at 9.00 pm.

The Society is grateful for the support of The IET and TMP Worldwide in sponsoring this event.
