Productive partnerships - building and maintaining relationships with recruitment agencies
Date: Fri, Jan 9th, 2009 1:00:01 pm | Location: Meeting Room 8.1, Local Government House, Smith Square, Westminster, London, SW1P 3HZ | Speaker: Steve Huxham: Karen Wisdom, Ipsos Mori: Kevin Green, Chair, REC: Toni Williams, Serco Group: Michele White, Gilead Sciences
Despite the wide choice of recruitment attraction methods available to employers today, there still remains a big demand for recruitment agencies to help employers attract and recruit key staff to their organisation. The CIPD's Recruitment, Retention and Turnover Survey 2008 revealed that 78% of employers used recruitment agencies in 2007 to fill vacancies.
But historically relationships between HR professionals and recruitment consultants have not always been good - with potential for mistrust on both sides. So what steps can HR professionals take to improve their relationships with agencies? And what business benefits can employers gain from working in partnership with agencies?
For recruitment agencies to successfully meet HR's recruitment requirements the quality of the relationship between HR and recruitment agencies needs to be high. In fact, research from the CIPD's 2007 recruitment survey shows that where HR and recruitment agencies are committed to developing and maintaining closer relationships the outcomes for both parties are more positive. And from a strategic perspective, it's the formation of these stronger partnerships that brings added value and mutual business benefits.
All delegates will receive a free copy of the CIPD and REC's latest guide - The relationship between HR and recruitment agencies - a guide to productive partnerships.
