Graduate recruitment is at a standstill as employers face recession and doubt the effectiveness of some degree courses, argued Carl Gilleard at the Recruitment Society March event. To make matters worse for some universities, future growth will be more selective with employers looking for discipline, rigour and commitment, The Government needs to take note, abolish graduate output targets, and focus on coercing universities to produce graduates with more employer orientated skills
